What is Stella
Stella is a web tool that reads your Western astrology birth chart (natal chart) and horoscope from your birth date, time, and place. Anyone can use it right away with no sign-up, and unlike a plain horoscope that looks at your Sun sign alone, Stella calculates the whole sky at the moment you were born for a fuller picture of you.
What is a birth chart
A birth chart is a map of where the Sun, Moon, and planets sat in the sky the moment you were born. The sign you usually know is just one of them — your Sun sign — and Stella adds your Moon sign, Rising sign, and the twelve houses so it can describe your character and the areas of your life in far more detail.
What you can do
Stella shows the Sun, Moon, and planet placements for your birth date at a glance, and adds the Rising sign and houses when your birth time is known. Your daily horoscope overlays the planets moving through the sky now onto your chart to read the day’s flow, while your love outlook uses Venus, Mars, and the relationship indicators that can be established from your input to read how you love and the seasons ahead. Every reading is available in Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese.
How it calculates
Stella uses the tropical zodiac. Swiss Ephemeris resolves the geocentric positions of the Sun through Pluto, the lunar nodes, Lilith, and Chiron; when the birth time is known, it also calculates the Ascendant, Midheaven, and Placidus houses. Every calculation runs entirely in your browser. The level of detail depends on the input: without a birth time, Stella shows the Moon’s full-day range and leaves out its exact degree and aspects, the Rising sign, houses, and chart shape.
How your data is handled
The birth date, time, and place entered in the form are calculated in your browser and are not directly submitted to Stella’s server. If you choose to save them, they stay in this browser. If you choose link sharing, the birth details needed to reproduce the result are included in the shared URL and delivered to the selected share target and anyone who receives the link. Who builds it
Stella is built and run by sobok, a solo indie developer. It began with a simple goal: make astrology easy to enjoy.
